Indian E-Visa facility which was launched on November 27, 2014, has been a hit in the first month itself. According to a report published in The Times of India, India has issued about 22,000 E-Visas in the first month itself, when compared to 24,963 E-Visas issued between January and November the same year.
The facility allows foreign tourists to visit India for leisure, to visit family and friends, for medial purpose, and for business seminars and events, for a period of 30 days, twice a year. Currently, the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is being issued to nationals of 43 countries including those from the US, Russia, Israel, Palestine, Norway, Germany, og andre.
